Use your head, if you can. News articles always leave facts out because their objective is to draw controversy and attention.
For one it's private property. If they tell you to leave, you are required to LEAVE or get arrested. Comprende? Look on the bottom of the article:
"Monday's arrest came less than three months after about 20 peace activists wearing similar T-shirts were told to leave by mall security and police. There were no arrests."
"NO ARRESTS". Because they LEFT and they know the law enough to not cause a fuss or get arrested. The guy in the article obviously tried to bitch back or refused to leave and therefore got busted.
Before you respond that it shouldn't matter, take this example: You are allowed to "loiter" (stand around) freely around a "public" beach or park but you're limited to do the same exact act in private property.
