Florida Elections covered by the BBC
Bad example for lots of reasons:

"According to his investigation, up to 57,000 persons, the majority of them African American and Democrats, had their voting rights removed."

-Ever been to Broward county? Mostly demoncrats there. Yet no note of the correlation of where the problems in Florida occured and the political majority in the region. Also, no mention of exactly how many were Libertarians, Republicans, and Independents. Coincidence? I think not.

"In his book, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, Palast tells how the State of Florida hired a company named DBT for four million dollars to remove felons from the electoral list to keep them from voting."

- Felons are not allowed to vote. They lose their right to vote when they commit a crime. As it should be.

"Thousands of people came to the electoral office to vote only to find out that they were felons"

- They didn't KNOW they were felons. Are they implying that our jails and prisons hold an annual open house where anyone can come and stay for the night? Yeah, right.

"According to the settlement from the NAACP lawsuit, the State has to revise the list and return the voting rights to the innocent ones. But they are going to wait until after the elections to do so."

- Consider the source. More crap.

"Florida is America?s swing state. It?s the only state were the vote is equally divided. That?s why they have to steal it in 2002 if they want to steal it in 2004. "

- Oh, there is some jounalistic integrity. Nothing like presenting facts and letting people decide for themselves.

"The NAACP is sending hundreds of students across the state to supervise the election and to educate people, telling voters that they have the right to ask for a provisional ballot if their name is in the list of purged criminals. That way they could have their vote counted once the list is revised."

- I live in Florida. This is how the whole thing started. NAACP coming into the state telling people to go and vote, regardless if they are a felon. Great...just f'ing great.

I appreciate your intentions, but find a better source please.
