paypal is processing payments for rapidshare.com which enables downloading of pornographic images (and other stuff too) which sometimes even includes illegal pornography and other illegal stuff. rapidshare does not remove files on the weekend. I report files on a Friday afternoon and they are not removed until Monday afternoon. you can upload and download cp all weekend on rapidshare.
Think about this? What if I sell bombs, guns, etc in a vending machine. In order to buy the weapons, you insert a credit card and must agree to the TOS. One day, a terrorist buys weapons from my vending machine and kills many people. I argue that I am not responsible because he violated my TOS. My TOS states that only licensed professionals who have a legal right to buy my weapons may buy them.
of course, guns and porn are different but I think the operator of a vending machine which distrubutes guns or porn or whatever has some responsbility to check who is buying the product and is partially responsible for damages. I think only requiring people to click on a box "I agree" is not enough. I don't want rapidshare to be forced to shutdown. I just think they should pay some fines and/or compensation when their service is used for something illegal. And paypal should also pay fines because they also profit from illegal files on rapidshare.
