I actually asked a GF once to just please treat me like I'm a stranger so at least we could have a pleasant conversation. Maybe we could even become friends again one day. This is after we'd lived together for 2 years. She was like a magical everfull bag of criticisms, putdowns and raw pure negativity....... and she wanted to marry! Christ! Go buy a dog!
Shit like that has made me so bitter and cautious that it's just a shame.
