One of the reasons that we put that policy in place is because we discovered that in many cases when a check didn't arrive at the clients mailing address on the ?normal? day, it were just delayed a few days or got sent back to us.
Most checks get to the clients; sometimes they get delayed for a bit. We found that in a lot of cases, we would stop payment on the check, only to have the customer call the next day and tell us that they had gotten the check and to remove the stop payment, which by that it time was too late
