Interesting thread. It coincided with a discussion in tonight's episode of the Tavis Smiley radio show on NPR. Dr. Earl Ofari Hutchinson and a rep from Ebay were discussing whether it was racist to use the "N" word to describe memorabilia from the 30's and 40's.
My personal take is that if there are other ways to describe a memorabilia other than the N word then the other more nonoffensive should be used. However, if the N Word is the ACTUAL name/title of the item then use it -- for accuracy's / identification's sake. For example, Randall Kennedy's book on the history of the N word uses the N word as its title. In this example, it makes sense to list the item with the N keyword.
