I thought it was cool actually. The guy had to go rescue his girl no matter what. In his place I'd have shit my pants and then done the same thing.

No, she wasn't about to die, she was pinned on a metal spike of some sort. Her entire building had been knocked sideways and it was leaning on the building next to it, and she had slid down and got a piece of metal through her, obviously in a place where no vital organs were.
It's possibled she could still run after that. I know I'd have to be pretty banged up to prevent me from running if something like that attacked my city. lol ...in fact fuck that, I'd be hauling ass on my mountain bike, away from it at high speed, spike impalement wound or not.
