Yes, you're right...The Rome analogy works great...but I want to cut the shit out of the business...
The crucial problem is a lack of standards...Any script stealer can do some basic edits to scripts and call themselves a "PHP/MySQL Developer". I hate this because it creates instability and a lack of integrity amongst people who should know better.
There will always be room for experienced, quality application builders. I on the other hand am developing a simple easy to read and use guide that makes the act of administering PHP and MySQL and basic content mamagement systems as simple as Word Processing.
I look forward to the input of "real" developers in helping me dispel some of the myths of web development....
