McCain campaign co-chair, former Texas senator Phil Gramm, was a banking industry lobbyist all the way until late 2007. He's been advising McCain in the same area that he lobbies on behalf of banks for. He helped write a speech by McCain on his economic policies regarding the mortgage lending crisis. Dont know who this guy is? Maybe this paragraph will put his place in history more solidly in your mind:
"After Gramm passed a law easing regulation of energy-commodity trading, California experienced a sharp run-up in energy costs. The energy-trading company Enron was blamed and soon collapsed."
McCain has hinted that this asshat could be tapped to be his Treasury secretary! I mean holy shit!
McCain has already outright expelled 4 lobbyists from his national campaign staff, has kept Gramm (hoping you will not read the news of course), and has told his remaining campaign workers who are still lobbyists to not advise him on the same subjects covered by their lobbying work. Uh huh...
Lets be clear: Gramm worked for banks, he was a paid lobbyist to seek what the banking industry wanted our government to do, at the same time he's been advising McCain on his banking regulation policies and helping him write speeches to you and me. Is this ok with you?
Gramm successfully lobbied congress to ease mortage lending regulations on behalf of his bosses: the banks, resulting in mortgage lenders who only needed to know you were a living human in order to qualify for a loan. And he's John McCains national campaign co-chair, and it's been hinted that McCain could appoint him secretary of the treasury.
I mean really. The dots are all right there in a row, just connect them. McCain is counting on you to remain ignorant. He's counting on you to not do your own homework before you decide how to vote. He's counting on you to remain an idiot. Wake the fuck up.
