Your cat will be fine with the dog in a few days. When I got my dog 4 years ago I was worried I would have to take him back coz my cat stopped eating and never stayed in the house for more then 10 mins. He always wanted out and stayed well away from the dog. After 5 days or so he started getting curious and trying to go up to the dog but since he was a puppy he wanted to play and the cat just ran away. After 2 weeks tho the cat didn't bother his arse with the dog anymore and if he got too close he gave him a little smack on the nose.

They got on ok until my cat died 2 years ago. The dog was scared of him tho even tho when he grew up he was massive. The cat still strutted around like he owned the place tho.
