good enough for a #6 seed in the west yes even this year... Oh how the mighty west is looking weaker now. The best the west offers isn't even able to do what the easts #8 seed was able to do... (push the celtics to 7)

NOW factor what I said above with this... Who could get in exchange for Kobe? My favorite scenario is the Bulls... Gordon + #1 pick and the rights to an impact PG + a young big for backup purposes.

My main reasons for trading Kobe is
#1 he's a cancer, sooner or later he WILL dog his teammates and alienate people
#2 He'll never be a "team" guy
#3 his value is still high since he is a very good REGULAR SEASON player
#4 the Lakers are in a shape where they don't "need" Kobe so they don't have to bend over backwards to make him happy anymore.

Fans might not like it but I'd say the Lakers could very well be a better team if they trade Kobe. I am a huge Pistons and Spurs fan simply because everybody on those teams ALWAYS puts the team ahead of personal gain which is why they have been the dominate teams of the past 10yrs. Selfish me first players don't win titles. They can win all the individual awards in the world but they'll fuckup a "team" in the long run.
