Belgium and The Netherlands were set up by the Brits as buffer states against the Germans. British policy has always been to keep the Germans as isolated and divided as possible so they could put their efforts into their empire.

Pity Hitler didn't invade Britain. They haven't had any fresh Germanic blood since 1066 and have become quite degenerated. Now the empire is gone and they're going to become Muslim.
