By reading this thread, it's amazing how little american's know about Britain. But yeh, it's terrible how willing people are to stab people just to rob their mobile phone's... Talk about equating risk of crime to the gains...
I don't think a gun is much worse then a knife anyway. If you get hit in the upper body with either you are likely to die, if you get hit in the leg with either you are likely to be fine - the only thing making guns worse really is the range ;)
