"Worthless" in the title refers to relative usefulness of a degree compared to all other degrees, it doesn't mean literally that these degrees are actually worthless...

I studied philosophy for some years, and am starting med school in the fall. Most people I know who studied philosophy either went into IT, law or business, with a few going into academics, politics or teaching.
Philosophy essentially teaches logic and argumentation. Those are rather important things in contemporary society.
