that would be no fun if each time you take a plane they would check your laptop/cellphone/etc. So if they found something they question, that means you leave your stuff behind and take the plane on time or miss the flight and spend the day and/or more in the airport??? How fun is that???
I remember Kate (kates playground) telling a story a while ago how her laptop was searched before flight and how she had to spend several hours with the airport security looking at her own pics and vids together with them and discuss it.
Some of you here who say you have had your laptop searched before at the airport, what did they look for? How long did it take? Were they really picky or just happy enough that you offered to turn it on?
