As the consumer it's up to you to pick who you want to use. Stop useing Epassporte, and try mailing them a cheque, if the fees bother you so much.

I've had to use one of these airport exchange shops and they are truly the worst.
My only advice, would be to try to open a bank account/debit card in the USA. You can do it and it's legal.
