i dont totally agree.
i do not believe this took "strength." to me, it appears to be a spur of the moment thing, a whim, so to speak where he had the idea and a moment later threw himself into the chipper.

i believe it was spontanious.
there was no note, no message.
he wasnt even crying i am sure.
