A man, possibly 19-21 years in age in Roseville, Minnesota failed to immediately kill himself with a wood chipper Thursday afternoon. A tree repair service that was working in a public area saw a man jump head-first into their industrial-sized wood chipper.
The wood chipper was immediately turned off by the workers and 911 was called. Roseville police believe the incident to be a suicide attempt, stating the man did not leave a note or any indication of his intentions.
The man was rushed to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where he remains in intensive care. Officials say he suffered severe, life-threatening injuries to his head and torso. It is believed a nearby hardware store may have caught the incident on video.
