I know they aren't mutually exclusive. I'm not that absolutist to say you can only believe in one and not the other. There is always middle ground.
The biggest chip on my shoulder about religion comes from my mom's side of the family. All born-agains. All gigantic hypocrites. All incredibly judgmental. All incredibly pushy about Jesus. Some of the sorriest excuses for people that I know. (As a fun side: guess their political affiliation!)
I do not put all religious people into this category.
