The average long term retention in this industry hasn't dropped. Now, the natural trail to convert ratios have, but a simple upgrade script solves that problem. Just recently CCBill had a client reach 99 rebills, on several members, making them reset the limits. (That's 8.25+ years retention)

The market is changing, the traffic is moving, sources are much more broad and even larger than ever before. Tubes will never beat out Paysites just like Social Media will never replace News.

Pay Per Signup is here to stay, it creates far far far more income than Revshare programs and has only gotten stronger over the last 10 years. It's easier to cover the costs on a PPS today than it was even 6 years ago - Retention isn't a factor when it has remained about the same.

The prime for our business is GONE, it will never return. But that doesn't mean you can't get the sales/income you once had. Previous traffic was all tied into a few major sources in this business, a few major players owned the majority of traffic - which they shared. Today, the few traffic sources have now turned into 1000's of unique sources - the people have moved - just as they have done before and just like they will continue to do.

I do not read the same news sites as I once did, I don't enjoy the same sites I once did, or games, just about everything online for me has changed. Even from 2 weeks ago, 2 years, and 10 years, the changes are huge. If this change has happened to me then it's safe to assume the change happens for everyone.

And that's why I think you have to adapt, change, and always be on the move in this Business - or you will get simply be left behind like so many already have been.
