On a serious note, this really sucks. Black on Brown/Brown on Black crime has been a big issue here in LA and as of the last two or so years it has really escalated to the point that now it seems to be all everyone talks about. Locke High being in South LA is not foreign to these types of rampant fighting ordeals, but this one was only made public given the massive nature of students involved (About 1/5th of the school).

It really sucks, but it's how kids in the inner city are brought up (I should know, I was raised in South LA). If you're black you're brought up not liking "Mexicans"/"Hispanics" because they're here "illegally" and taking advantage of most public resources. If you're brown, you're brought up not liking "Blacks" because of the obvious racist connotations and the fact that Hispanics/Latinos, for the most part, view Black folks as 'lazy' and 'free loading off the government'. It's a two-way street, but much of this has to do with the upbringing of these kids. Add in the gang influence, and you've got these types of melee's sprawling up throughout many Junior and Senior High Schools across So Cal. It really sucks.

Thank God nobody was killed in this one.
