Well, its only possible to have friends of different races if you have friends to begin with. If you have one friend or zero friends, it's not really feasible. The questioner is already assuming that everyone has friend(s) in the plural sense to begin with.
You cannot expect someone to have friends of different races if they barely have any friends or no friends.
