someone once told me the diesel is what its cut with.. i've seen them making coke in a video b4 and they used diesel to create the coke... assuming it comes from one or a combo of that...
why your weed would smell like gas i dunno, can assume it was smuggled in someones gas tank or could they be lacing it?? shrug...
