I have a feeling that if she had not compounded her issues by breaking out of prison, this "model citizen" would have been paroled and all of this would be over by now.
I wonder if she thinks it was worth it.
As far as your contention that "the way she lived her life after escaping shows it was a mistake not a life style" is actually just showing that escapees usually try to low and not get caught again. She did not dare spit on the sidewalk.
