I never recommend adding a watermark to the video in the editing app itself (Vegas, Premiere Pro etc) if you are going to encode to the final delivery format (WMV, QT etc) in a 3rd party app, because you are resizing and compressing the watermark along with video that way. I always suggest exporting the edited movie as a full size AVI and then bringing that into your video encoding app and adding your watermark as a png there at the exact size of the final output. That's a pretty picky little point, but I think it helps keep it super sharp and crisp, plus it cuts way down on rendering time for the movie, unless you are just exporting to one and only one end user format right from Vegas.
