Who's estimate is that?
I'm not going to dig it up but in the Potash corp conference call last week they discussed the run up in prices for various crops. The CEO mentioned that only 5% of the current corn crop is being used as feed stock for the production of ethanol and banning it's use would only have a minor effect on the current price. He attributed the majority of the price increases to a growing middle class in China, India and others and their increasing protein intake hence the need for more corn to feed the chickens, cows, pigs and such.
