i've seen the foley guys work, amazing what they do, unheralded part of movie making.
also saw a very cool piece on some show about the guy who is THAT VOICE you hear narrating like half of the movie trailers for the biggest movies. Just weird to see this guy sitting in his little studio and THAT voice coming out of him.
Remember the Lou Grant show? His boss on the show, character actor named Mason Adams, used to be the top voice over guy for trailers in the 80's.
So much of movie making today is done after the shooting is done, what happens on the set and on location is just the skeleton and basics to start creating movie magic. Actors all have to come back and do their dialogue over again in a sound studio too. Maybe not every actor but the lead actors go back to do 'looping'.
