Yes it's very sad.. Sorry BP, wasn't trying to take a shot, just last night I watched an investigative reporting thing on the pollution in China, and how bad it really is. Mostly from mining plants apparently, and the government's antiquated ego where nothing matters to them but money. They're using that red water to irrigate their plants, then they eat the plants, get cancer, have growths all over them, it's nasty.
Also saw a study yesterday that suggests eating a good diet that's high in calories and potassium will cause a higher %% of boys to be born VS girls. Something like 57% to 43% in their study. Eating a few bananas every day prior to conception and during early pregnancy will highly increase your chances of having a boy apparently.
Good on you for doing all the necessary work to make this a reality. I have a 3 month old baby myself, and it's amazing!
