Who thinks Amazon's AWS is expensive?

From an email I got this morning.

Quote:
New data transfer price (effective May 1, 2008)
$0.100 per GB - data transfer in
$0.170 per GB - first 10 TB / month data transfer out
$0.130 per GB - next 40 TB / month data transfer out
$0.110 per GB - next 100 TB / month data transfer out
$0.100 per GB - data transfer out / month over 150 TB
And that's just for the bandwidth. CPU and disk storage is in addition to that.

I was at a talk where Jeff Bezos was there and someone asked him why his rates were so expensive. He claimed they were cheap. Does bandwidth cost a lot more for enterprise companies for some reason? They seem anything but cheap to me.

He talked about the ability to scale quickly and effortlessly. The thing is, a powerful dedicated server is the same as 50+ EC2 instances.
