Yea, a lot of companies in developement of that film were smaller Canadian film companies. Probably since the American ones wouldn't make a film like that, particularly the Big guys.

From: IMDB

Production Companies

Alliance Atlantis Communications [ca]
Dog Eat Dog Films
Salter Street Films International
United Broadcasting Inc.
VIF Babelsberger Filmproduktion GmbH & Co. Zweite KG (VIF 2) [de]
Alliance Atlantis is the Canadian "Powerhouse" of movies. If it is an american movie and shown in Canada, 9/10 chance that alliance was the canadian distributor.

Dog Eat Dog Films. No idea, only made 6 films in Total since 1975

Salter Street Film International. Salter Street has made a few movies and has more experience @ TV shows, such as Lexx, For Better and For Worse (tv cartoon version), and This House has 22 Minutes.

VIF Babelsberger. German Company (It's only title).

From all the small guys making this, I think it was a very well done film. 2 of them I recognize as Canadian, Alliance Atlantis (Formed when Alliance and Atlantis joined around 5 years old) and Salter Street, which is a small Company that is growing nicely.

United Broadcasting Inc. This is only the Companies 2nd title.
