That's why I made the distinction earlier about people posting on this and other boards, who are also obnoxious about the girls they bang and the money they (allegedly) make. I've been talking about *real* fans, not classless ones.
I lived in New England almost all of my life - I suffered through more crap almost than any team's fans can imagine because of the joke that the franchise was for most of its existence. I had season's tickets and was at Patriots games during the darkest days. And I probably know more Pats fans than anyone on this board.
And every *real* Pats fan I know (not the bandwagon jumpers and not the bigmouths who also brag about the size of their dick) did two things after the game. They congratulated the Giants fans they knew - and they tried not to even think about, let alone talk about the game, for weeks. We were all so devastated that we didn't want to talk about it...we congratulated the Giants fans and let the subject drop. And the *real* Giants fans (and there are still lots of them in New England, because before the Pats came into existence, the Giants were New England's "home" team) did two things after the game, they celebrated and accepted the congratulations they received - and they realized that while their team played a great game against a great team, and was the better team that day, they were fortunate to win on perhaps the greatest single catch in the history of the Super Bowl.
I'll say it again and then I'm done - congratulations to the Giants. They won the Super Bowl because they deserved to win it and the Patriots didn't. The Giants made the play they had to and the Pats didn't. There are jerks on both sides, and because they're vocal about it, they're often viewed as the "representatives" of their team's fans. They're not.
End of story.
