I wouldn't worry about that too much. It doesn't take long for a puppy to turn into a full fledged adult! I'm always amazed at the huge waiting list at shelters for puppies when there are perfectly fine adult dogs waiting for a home.

Whatever you do, don't give the dog a human name! I see too many human dog names these days! My cousin just named her new puppy "Bill". Yikes! This is because everyone is giving dogs human attributes. They call it "anthropomorphism." And this partly why dogs end up in the shelter in the first place. I'd stick to one or two syllable names, preferably one if you can. It's just easier to get your dog's attention that way.
Go through some of your favorite movies and look up the character names. Use a last name. If you like Star Wars, plenty of good names to be found there. How about "Boba" or "Fett."
