I'm going to be working on a new side project in mainstream, that I have to use a Apple on. It's browser baised 3d content system and there is no option other than to publish on the Mac.
I'll be doing most of the heavy work in 3ds max on my PC then importing to this program that will be run on the Apple. So I need a capable machine, but doesn't have to be anything outragious nor does it have to be some $5k 8 core system..
I know little to nothing about Apples other than I'd rather not have to use one..
however I need some advice here.
I was thinking of a used G5 2x 2.5 system off E-bay (about $1k) but I had another person on another forum say that one of these newer
imacs would be more powerful that the G5. Is he right?
I just need something fast enough to run this program and I really don't want to pay $2 or $3k for a new mac pro or what ever they call them. I just built a quad core PC so I'm set for a high end system.
