True. So you look at the sources of the information and their motives. The journal of the American Medical Association and the American Heart Association are fairly credible sources.

I have had a bad personal experience with a family member turning to alternative medicine when faced by a serious illness.
I know that I am not going to change your mind or influence you in any way, MuleScrote, and the last thing I want to do is try to take away any hope that you might have.
However, I would like to encourage maintaining a high level of skepticism.
