God forbid that your daughter would become a millionaire, instead of a stay at home mom. While the aforementioned ladies do impact fashion to some degree (more so in the past than now), most of the teenage girls that I have ever met, ridicule their lifestyles.
Also, most teens that bought Britney merchandise were already over their Britney phase, before her meltdown. Hannah Montana would be a better example for today's teens.
You could point to some of the role models of the supposedly more innoccent period that were equally flawed, such as Marilyn Monroe (OD'ed), Elizabeth Taylor (married 8 or so times), Tammy Faye Bakker, etc.
