Minimum wage just jumped from $8/hr. to a whopping $8.75/hr. This amounts to $4,000 less than the low-income cutoff as defined by the government.

Look on the bright side, at least you know why Ontario's new "health care premium" tax is being siphoned into general revenues and not directly into the health care system.
The more startling figures for Ontario was 200,000 manufacturing jobs lost and 100,000 government jobs created. I guess if there is one thing that builds an economy up through tough times its overpaying militant civil servants that don't really do anything.
