It's not a man per se, "he" is actually a biological woman who was taking testosterone and other hormones to look masculine but "he" still has female organs internally, hence the pregnancy. It's really not a story from a scientific standpoint, although "he" would look awfully odd walking down the street with a beard and a pregnancy bump.
