Ted Turner?s not so anti-Christian anymore
Written by Mickey McLean
April 1, 2008

He once called Christianity a ?religion for losers? and a ?crutch for weak-minded people,? but today media mogul Ted Turner announced a $200 million partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Lutheran Church?Missouri Synod, and the United Methodist Church to stop deaths from malaria around the world.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Turner said, ?I regret anything I said about religion that was negative,? adding that he no longer considers himself agnostic or atheist and that he prays for sick friends because ?it doesn?t hurt.?

In talking about his United Nations Foundation teaming up with these church denominations on the malaria project, Turner said, ?Religion is one of the bright spots as far as I?m concerned, even though there are some areas, like everything else, where they?ve gone over the top a little, in my opinion. But I?m sure God, wherever he is, wants to see us get along with one another and love one another.?
