LOL, Fluffygirl - I knew you were talking about Stinky's post and not mine, so I figured let him stick his foot in his mouth (again), because gosh darn it, he's just dense that way.
I don't think the target audience is primarily Japanese, but if it were, then you are correct - I think I would certainly be insulted if I was Japanese.
Honestly, I believe that many English speaking Westerners will also be turned off by some of the language and branding. I have no problem with the porn, I was simply concerned about what I perceived to be racist overtones.
I seriously doubt that very many people would join the site because they are truly racist against Japanese people, so why appeal to that?
Flashcash is certainly not the only site in the Asian niche that has used racist language/attitudes/symbols. Misogynist directed racism (where Asians are expolited by non-Asians) is an even bigger and more prevalent problem in the Asian niche, although the adult industry as a whole could do better than it does to discourage misogyny.
I don't think Hal believes I got up in his grill. I was respectful, as I expected that he would at least take some action on my comments (which he did), since from my experience, he is a sensitive and caring person.
It's not about being "Politically Correct" (the catch-all rightwing pejorative buzzword people like Stinky use to excuse all kinds of bigotry, chauvinism, misogyny, and intolerance).
It's about not coming off as racist.
If FlashCash makes some minor changes to their site, as I suggested, then I think they will make more money.
