Mos Def does not fit into that category. Without commenting on his specific works, I can say that I feel he's a very intelligent man.
Powerful song, imho. Hopefully it inspires reasonable discussion, greater understanding, and a desire to change what's wrong with the system from within the system more than it inspires knee-jerk regression into ignorance, hate, and violence.
