Freedom of speech is good and all. But, when some jerk-offs pass bad info off as fact, especially at a museum where you go to learn history, then I would say that's a good place to squash their right to freedom of speech.

No, most likely the curator will lose his job. He most likely has a family to feed, and needs to pay his bills, and also it is most likely a state funded place, so he can NOT refuse them.
