Spike has a tattoo, so it's unlikely that anyone can turn in a counterfeit Spike to get the reward unless they knew what the tattoo is of, and where it is located...

Also, since you mentioned the possibly of scammers trying to take advantage of this situation, I am not sending out any e-mail solicitations, nor am I setting up any bank accounts on Spike's behalf, so if you get anything like that, just file it in your Nigerian Scam e-mail folder.
