LCDs are good for regular PC usage, business stuff like word processing and web surfing, fine. They save desktop space.

For Graphics and Gaming, they are not as good as CRT models.
Simple fact. A pixel on a CRT is 1 pixel in size. A pixel on an LCD is actually a combination of 3 cells. A red, a blue and a green cell stuck very close to each other. So when you have a clean seperation between red and green let's say, you could actually see a strange "jagged" effect at the cutoff point.

Also, when making an LCD, they accept up to 3 dead pixels. meaning you buy a brang new $800 LCD monitor, and you have two dead pixels, they might not take it back. They'll say it's within specs. I'm serious about this, I used to work in the industry.

If you're going to to graphics, or game, then use a CRT. You can also get true colors.

LCD is good for style, but the big honking CRT is better in quality.
