Assuming I wished to grow healthy plants of any type I would typically start with a soil that looked something like this.
6 parts promix hp
3 parts perlite
1 part worm castings
Then I would want to add in some minerals for like every gallon of soil I was making.
Perhaps like
2 tablespoons dolomite lime
2 tablespoons bone meal (only in my flowering or fruiting soil but well..)
1 tablespoon kelp meal
1 tablespoon blood meal
1 tsp Epsom salts
Of course I may want the microbial action to start so I would mix this all up at least two to three weeks before using. I would also want to wet it with some B-1 mixed into a gallon of water. Most formulas are like 1 tablespoon per gallon of water.
However I would really want to keep anything I was growing really hopping along and thus I would really want them to have some tea when watered. The tea would be something like this.
4 gallons of water and then add (I would wrap in cheese cloth and let sit for a day or so. It allows it to really brew plus the crap in water like chlorine will dissipate, just give it a stir once or twice a day.)
4 tablespoons worm castings
3 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons blackstrap molasses
3 tablespoons guano (bat preferably)
2 tablespoons liquid seaweed
2 tablespoons liquid humic acid
Thats assuming I wanted to grow really healthy plants, of whatever type they may be. I just feel it is a damn good start to begin with at least. Some may like liquid alfalfa, others may feel it could use some mushroom compost. It all really depends on individual tweaks. I just know I would always use a tea regardless.
