It is a hard busines .. use to be in it in Montreal.
Forget hiring a salesmen, stores already have their suppliers . They have no need to open a new supplier for product.
In
Canada, DVD's need to go thru various provincial review boards, with substantial costs. You can always contact dfidvd dot com ( denise is the owner ) and distributes foreign productions locally. As the PAL issue, a NTSC dvd can be easely done from the actual dvd, re-authored for the menus. Sleeves can be supplied by you so cost stays as low as possible.
In the USA, you could go thru a foreign agent, such as mkfilmsinc dot com ( melodie -at - mkfilmsinc.com ).
Best is to do an outright sale, where you get paid upfront.
