Hmmm that's crazy, hotel staff should never have let some one into the room without prior consent of the registered guest. That is considered break and enter and am pretty sure against hotel policy. What if your ex had a gun and started shooting people? Talk to a lawyer make the hotel accountable for this BS and prevent it from happening to you or another guest in the future, because things could have been a lot worse than they were.
I have had similar situations in the past the only difference being that it was at my residents and not at a hotel and I did not let crazy person in. Now I usually won't even answer the door if some one shows up unannounced. Just because I work from home does not mean that it's an open invitation for people to pop by whenever they want and then expect me to drop everything that I am doing to entertain them or some shit like that.
