When the fruit is overripe, it falls to the ground. In the summerheat, and in conjunction with the thick skin of the mangos, and their high sugar content, they ferment very quickly.

The result? The local parrots get totally, 100% pissed from mango daiquiris. It's not an odd thing in the summer to see birds fast asleep on the ground, or rolling around squarking very drunkenly.
