OK. But if you read my post carefully, you will see that I say " both leaders". Now, that means that I suggest that "Yasser Arafat be removed ( at least from negociation if not completely). So your last phrase is unneccessary.
On the other hand, you tell me how Israel had leaders that .... The key word is "had". I am saying leaders of both sides "now", so Sharon for the Israeli. Please do not tell me that Sharon has the diplomacy and will of a Shimon Peres or regreated Rabin.
During all peace talks, there has been terrorist attacks because the terrorist ( Hamas, ... ) do not want the peace. They want Israel OUT. But I think that this was a minority ( which now is growing because of all those attacks) and that the majority could "prevail" ( I hope Bush doesn't have a "patent" on this term: don't need an Acacia suit). On the other hand, your prime minister was assassinated by an Israeli extremist. So, you see...
