It's very simple.
Start with an extract brew. This gets your feet wet with the process.
Find a local homebrew supply and go look around.
I would suggest an Ale extract.
The extract will come with the yeast.
Basically you need a couple of 6 gallon buckets to get going.
Your going to boil 2 gallons of water, add cane sugar, about 5 cups then add your extract. Put it in the bucket after a good boil and add water to bring the temp down to 70 degrees.
Add the yeast and close it up for the next few weeks.
