Agreed. All that means is that most will never get it. I guess I just had to vent about it. However, I do see it getting worse. Perhaps it is the influx of surfers, etc. here.
Also, from what I hear, kids these days turn in papers in school with SMS message and chat abbreviations/speak in them. I also believe I saw an article about a year or so ago with a professor at a university somewhere making the argument that it was the evolution of the language rather than a lack of education.
